Graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia in 1991 with Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons), Fakihah Azahari was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 12th June 1992. She was later admitted as a Shariah Counsel of Selangor Shariah High Court in the same year. She is one of the longest serving practitioners of the firm, practicing with the partnership of the firm (formerly known as Messrs Nik Hisham, Ainul Azam & Fakihah) since 1994. Apart from her practice, Fakihah Azahari is a well-known name in Islamic banking industry, which eventually leads to external appointments as the followings:

1. Independent Director of Muamalat Invest Sdn Bhd - a subsidiary of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad

2. Lecturer for Harun M. Hashim Law Centre for Postgraduate Studies IIUM (Islamic Finance Contracts)

3. Banking Committee of the International Chambers of Commerce for Malaysia

4. EPP leader for Islamic Finance outsourcing under Business Services lab, a project under National Key Economic Area initiatives, Prime Minister’s Department.

 

The fluent speaker of English and Arabic also holds several other professional qualifications in Mediation (Certificate of Mediation and Advance Course on Negotiation, The Accord Group, Australia) and in Arbitration (Member, U.K. Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIARB).
